I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 with virtualbox with a windows XP pro virtual machine.
The virtual machine is working with visual studio 2010 express and framework.
The problem is connecting the netduino plus to ubuntu. I simply get it not working.
How do I tell Ubuntu that there is a Netduino connected with the USB cable.
Ubuntu host with virtualbox problem

Hi Plakias,
Do you see the netduino device on the Ubuntu host when issuing 'lsusb' command ?
(Maybe it won't be mentionned 'netduino' but at least a news devices appear when connect. Do 'lsusb' before and after connection to see the differences)
Then, in you VirtualBox machine settings, under USB, add a 'filter', a list of all devices seens in ubuntu will apppear, choose the 'netduino', the name should be present. the device will be connected to your Windows at the next connection. Unplug the netduino, and replug it. Devices should now appear in Windows Devices Manager.
You can now follow usual instructions given in the forums to install drivers, firmware, etc. as it would be for a normal windows machine.
Hope it helps,
Martin
