Hi guys, I am a newbie to microcontrollers and particularly Netduinos. I am planning to buy some equipments and I need your help to order correct components. I want to connect Netduino with Android application throught bluetooth. I don't know which Netduino model to use. I'm in doubt between the Netduino and Netduino Plus Go. I read that bluetooth modules can connect directly to the Netduino Plus. Do you know if it is possible to directly connect a bluetooth module in the Netduino Go without needing a shield base? Could you indicate some type of bluetooth module? Thank you in advance

Hi remor, I use these Bluetooth modules, http://www.mdfly.com...products_id=769 They implement the SPP profile. The hookup pins are Tx, Rx, Gnd and 5V so you can interface it to any TTL UART. To communicate with the PC, you need a USB Serial adapter. I use FTDI based adapters and also the this Prolific adapter which offers good value, http://www.mdfly.com...products_id=485 This will work with all of the Netduinos, but I am uncertain about the NetduinogGO. The FTDI and Prolific adapters will also work with the Slick 2 USB terminal App on Google Store if your Android device implements USB Host. You may need a OTG USB cable. I have an Archos 80 G9 which has both a full size and a micro USB port and all of this works just fine. I am also starting to learn Basic4Android to develop apps to control my Netduino Plus. Baxter

Hi Remor,

The Nwazet DAQ module works very well with FTDI based adapters and should do very well with the MDFLY Bluetooth module.
As a matter of fact, expect a demo dedicated to wireless serial communications in the very near future... Posted Image

Cheers,

Has anyone built a bluetooth module for the GO? I am trying to get a GO to be a host for 4 bluetooth devices. Any suggestions on the cheapest route to make it work? Thanks

Secret Labs is working on a Go Module for Xbee communication devices: link . I think its probably going to be a good solution for bluetooth.
