...stay tuned for this afternoon's Hanselminutes podcast. We have a little something new to share...

Listen to the podcast

"What is Hanselminutes?

Hanselminutes is a weekly audio talk show with noted web developer and technologist Scott Hanselman and hosted by Carl Franklin. Scott discusses utilities and tools, gives practical how-to advice, and discusses ASP.NET or Windows issues and workarounds."

:)

We recorded the podcast today and it's now being encoded for the web. I think they go live in the evenings...

Chris

P.S. When I say "a little Netduino surprise"...I should probably emphasise the word LITTLE.

They are already pretty little. This ought to be interesting.

I hope when you say "little" it relates to my previous post / poll about designing a "Netduino Mini" version.

I guess I was right!

The Netduino Mini has arrived. Take a look...

This fits in perfectly with my smart home project. Now the only question is, is it cheaper than the Arduino Pro Mini?

Aww... it's so cute!

Chris Seto, the Netduino Mini is so small you can probably fit 16 on the back of your RWAR! Posted Image

Hah, just call me Chris :P

I could very easily fit 16 on the back of RWAR. These are really, really tiny.

In fact, if my measurements are right, I could fit ~35 on the back of RWAR

Another teaser:

We've added a forum for the Netduino Mini and created a thread to share more details. http://forums.netdui...-netduino-mini/ We're pretty excited about this new addition to the Netduino family. Its size, capabilities, and affordable price are significant breakthroughs in the world of 32-bit microcontroller electronics. We'll have to take a photo of the Netduino Mini next to a coin. It's fantastically small. Chris

Hanselminutes podcast is now live. Talking about Netduino, some fantastic community projects, and the new Netduino Mini. [We also talk about the upcoming O'Reilly book featuring Netduino Plus, "Getting Started with the Internet of Things".] http://www.hanselmin...aspx?showID=256 Chris

This is perfect. I was just thinking last week it would be great to be able to make a circut board and solder on a programmed chip that's Netduino compatable. This is one step better!

It's called "Getting Started with the Internet of Things." It ships in the spring, but O'Reilly will have a "rough cut" (beta) version of the book in November ahead of the Netduino Plus launch. It walks users through building Internet-connected devices using .NET and Netduino Plus.

We've been given perrmission to post a free chapter or two as well.

I believe that the "rough cut" of the book will be online later this month. I'll be sure to post when it's posted--but it's really up to O'Reilly as to when to post it. Chris
