Downloaded the 4.2 firmware from http://forums.netdui...-firmware-v420/ Used SAM-BA v2.11 as instructed in the "Getting Started with Netduino" book, pg 76-78. After the firmware is sent to Netduino, I did a compare file to make sure the firmware is really uploaded. The program says Match Exactly. Unplugged and plugged in as instructed in the book. Opened up MFDeploy tool. The device is not showing up under "USB". Went to Device Manager in Windows, and now the Netduino device have an ! mark next to it. What do I do now? Hopefully the netduino plus is not bricked! The netduino device had Micro Framework 4.1 before. I was developing something using Framework 4.2, that is why I did the firmware upgrade.

Following the Wiki instructions exactly worked for me.

I also had to install the driver mentioned in a small snippet in those instructions.

Now (re)connect the Netduino to the PC. A driver for an emulated COM port will be installed. Start the SAM-BA tool. If a driver for an emulated COM port is not installed on a Windows 7 x64-machine, try this wiki page.

I'm running Server 2008 on a VM so it wasn't as straight-forward. I had to use IE to go to the Update site, download the file and install it manually. A little bit more of a pain but it worked. The link to the file is in the second Wiki link.

It detected as "GPS Camera Detect" when I erase the firmware, but before uploading the new 4.2 firmware. AFTER I upload the 4.2 firmware using SAM-BA, it would no longer detect the device correctly.

You could try re-installing the .NET Micro Framework SDK 4.2 and the Netduino SDK 4.2.0.1. Links are on the Downloads page under

netduino go (and all 4.2 upgrades)

.

Hi chungenhung, To echo what Erik just said...make sure you've updated to the latest Netduino SDK and .NET MF 4.2 QFE2 SDK (both on the Downloads page). The older SDKs didn't install or understand how to use the WinUSB drivers...and will result in a scenario like the one you're describing. Chris

Solved it by installing Netduino SDK v4.2. I thought the .NET Microframework comes with the SDK.... I feel dumb. Anyways, I actually found the solution before looking in this thread for replies! Thanks guys.
