Hi, all. I was playing around with the NetworkToolkit for Microframework on Codeplex. I was attempting to upgrade solution from 3.x to 4.1 so that I could play around with my new Netduino Plus. I was in the middle of trying to deplay when I started getting "hardware error" or something in the output window in VS2010. After a few failed attempts, the mouse appeared to have locked on the PC. I shutdown and tried it again in VS and the solution won't deploy.... it just hangs after build. I'm running the following: Pinging... TinyCLR Pinging... TinyCLR HalSystemInfo.halVersion: 4.1.2821.0 HalSystemInfo.halVendorInfo: Netduino Plus by Secret Labs LLC HalSystemInfo.oemCode: 34 HalSystemInfo.modelCode: 177 HalSystemInfo.skuCode: 4097 HalSystemInfo.moduleSerialNumber: 00000000000000000000000000000000 HalSystemInfo.systemSerialNumber: 0000000000000000 ClrInfo.clrVersion: 4.1.2821.0 ClrInfo.clrVendorInfo: Netduino Plus by Secret Labs LLC ClrInfo.targetFrameworkVersion: 4.1.2821.0 SolutionReleaseInfo.solutionVersion: 4.1.0.4 SolutionReleaseInfo.solutionVendorInfo: Netduino Plus by Secret Labs LLC SoftwareVersion.BuildDate: Sep 29 2010 SoftwareVersion.CompilerVersion: 400771 FloatingPoint: True SourceLevelDebugging: True ThreadCreateEx: True LCD.Width: 0 LCD.Height: 0 LCD.BitsPerPixel: 0 AppDomains: True ExceptionFilters: True IncrementalDeployment: True SoftReboot: True Profiling: False ProfilingAllocations: False ProfilingCalls: False IsUnknown: False I tried the solution to hold button down while plugging in USB then releasing and trying to PING the device. It sits there and never returns. I did attempt to click "Erase" and it looked like it worked (said clearing a bunch of sectors and junk) but ping still failed afterwards. I've removed the ethernet cable. I've removed the SD card. I'm not sure what else to try -- When I power on the unit, I get the white power light. The blue LED stays lit for 10 secs or so before going out. Help!

Hi, all. It looks like I can deploy again. I pulled up an SD project that I used last night and it is working. I'm not sure what the problem may have been...

Hi dm3281, It looks like you're fine... Is there any chance that MFDeploy is still open and connected to your Netduino Plus while you're trying to deploy from Visual Studio? Only one can be connected at a time. Chris

Hi, no. I had rebooted after the first hang. I'll tinker some more and see if I can "break" it. Thanks for the reply.

Also...when you plug in your Netduino, it'll take a few seconds to "boot" (~3 seconds if a network cable is attached, ~10 seconds if no network cable is attached). Try to wait until after it has booted before deploying your program from Visual Studio... You can PING the device from MFDeploy to make sure it's running...just be sure not to press F5 to "connect" to it if you're diagnosing things. Please let us know what you figure out...we want to make sure you get up and running. Chris

I had my netduino plus set to use DHCP for networking (which works well) but when the plus was powered up without the network cable, it wouldn't respond to any deploy etc in visual studio (although the bootloader ping and erase worked in MFDeploy) Plugging in the network cable and / or changing to static IP sorted it out...

Hello, is there any chance to deploy a new application into N+ without starting the old one? I suspect my N+ to be running endless loop now... MFDeploy recognises unit's name, but ping gives no result (sometimes even hangs). Edit: my bad, it's that issue: http://forums.netdui...udio-debugging/
