What Hardware can you use with Netduino

Hello This may seem like a silly question but ill ask it anyway's. :unsure: What Hardware Can you use with Netduino. Does it have to be Specific arduino Capable Hardware Or can we use Just random Hardware? Thanks In advance.

Hi zynischen, There are hundreds of thousands of components that you could plug into a Netduino :) One thing to watch out for: most Arduino shields work, but some have 5V _analog_ outputs or require AVR-specific code to function. If you want to use one of those with Arduino Due or Netduino, you'll need to make some modifications to the shield. When you're just getting started, it's useful to use hardware which others have used, and for which there is sample C# code. What are you thinking of building? I am wanting to or planning to build a weaponised tracked autonomous vehicle. plan on utilising gps and sonar. And other things. :D
