Does anyone know the cheapest microcontroller that has the .net micro framework ported to it? I would like to build a shield or a super cheap mini that has rs-485 support and controls multiple LEDs with PWM.
Thank you for any/all help that you guys can provide.

Biggest fault of Netduino? It runs by electricity.

Probably the ST STM32F4 Discovery board (about $10) (essentially the same MCU as the GO has)
There are some details here, really good article on the inner workings of the managed to native code interface.

Nak.

Hi,
is the ST's STM32F4 Discovery board subsidized by ST, or why it's possible to offer this for 10$?

Atmel's AT91SAM7S256 and ST's STM32F205### are probably the smallest, least expensive microcontrollers for NETMF.Does anyone know the cheapest microcontroller that has the .net micro framework ported to it? Ever heard of gateway drugs? "Discovery" boards are ST's equivalent for their microcontroller families heheHi,

Another reason for their price is that you can't embed those boards into commercial applications.
