I have tried to do my first "blink" app in vb.net but when I try to set the transport to USB there is no netduino device listed under the devices combo. I set my ethermega up on port 20 using the arduino ide and can upload the blink sketch from there and it works. If I use the Serial and Com2 combination in vb.net I get the ----Build Started: and ----Deploy Started: messages on the output window but then nothing happens ????

Hi keymac and welcome to the forums. What kind of device do you try to deploy to? From your post I read you're trying to deploy to an arduino, which won't work. The Netduino is totally different hardware.

The devie is an EtherMega 2560. Was I wrong to use the Arduino IDE to set up the port etc?

Your best bet is to contact Freetronics. That board is designed to work with the Arduino code editor or traditional C/C++ development tools.
