OK this is not a problem or ??? post just a fun happy thing I happened across.
I have the Motorola Android and one of the USB docking station for it, they use Micro USB...
I had to move the stinky feet on the bottom of my Netduino up a bit but not a problem and woohoo it fits nice and easy in to the docking station... cant say why I'm so happy that it dose as it has no parts attached but its nice for for now... who knows maybe i can attach a small bread board to the right...
now I need a place for my Droid...

NetDroidO?
That's kinda cool. Be a neat form-factor for a project.

The Droid/Milestone dock uses magnets to tell the device in it that it is in a dock (and what kind) so the usb connector is just a usb connector.

Nice idea .. find any USB powered device that has a docking station and make a form factor to fit .. poof ... you have a dock-able component with a nice looking dock. This has sparked an idea to make a custom dock as well.
You will find that just about anything with a USB connector for power is a regulated 5v power supply just like the computer provides. For this reason, you can also use the wall adapter that comes with USB powered electronic devices - that your USB cable plugs into. They will say 5v DC (usually 500ma).
Making your own docking station is as easy as getting one of those power adapters adding a mini usb cable and then making a component case and related dock that match. While custom is cool, it is lots of extra work over buying a dock .. so great idea .. thanks for posting.
Power on!
