1. You install a service on your PC that is on your home network.
2. You configure the Eye-Fi card to connect to your network.
3. You take pictures with your camera.
4. When the Eye-Fi card is on your network, it connects to the service and transfers files.
Wow. This is very cool. I would like to repurpose this into a general data transfer system for the Netduino. Has anyone done this before?
Here is what is inside....

There is a nice SD card with embedded WiFi called Eye-Fi (home page). It seems to operate as follows:
1. You install a service on your PC that is on your home network.
2. You configure the Eye-Fi card to connect to your network.
3. You take pictures with your camera.
4. When the Eye-Fi card is on your network, it connects to the service and transfers files.

Hi Bob
Thanks for the morning diversion!
Hmmm, since the Netduino is so new and in limited circulation right now, not much chance someone else has your same interest. There is a lot of hacking discussions on the net, but the hacks are related to the wireless side of not using their external service.
Logically the product looks to function in the following process:
1. Cammera takes picture and writes it to SD card.
2. Wireless processor chip detects directory change.
3. Contacts destination and writes file.
Doesn't appear to be anything two way about it and even if you could replace the firmware it looks like you would still have to use file level mailboxs.
IMHO it would be better to spend the money on a direct interface wifi or bluetooth.
