Hi George,
In theory, a soft reboot is a bit quicker. For most intents and purposes, they'll be the same on Netduino.
I generally like using the hard reboot option, since it ensures that the entire system reboots (instead of trying an orderly shutdown/restart). Just be sure to close out any data files first.
