When I were erasing my Netduino Mini because I made the mistake of opening COM1 in my code (which turned out to conflict with the debugging as I use TTL channel for it) I spot in the MFDeploy options on erase that there is already a 4k SimpleStorage area. I think I read it under test somewhere.
Can we use it already? How? If not, when will we be able?
In a Mini without SD card it's a very important feature to store user configuration!

Hi Dixon,
SimpleStorage is new in .NET MF 4.2. There are no direct drivers for it, but we're working on one for a post-RTM update.
BTW, if you lock yourself out of your mini by opening up the debug serial port for your own use...you can simply apply 5V power to the "DTR" pin (pin 3) while the Mini is booting; this will put the Netduino Mini into bootloader mode so you can erase your app using MFDeploy. [You probably already knew this, but it's a helpful tip generally.]

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the tip, this was what I was doing when I saw the window in MFDeploy that allowed me to select the areas to erase, including SimpleStorage.
So if I understand it right, there is no way to access it right now even thought it is already build in 4.2. May I ask you a for a rough estimation on when post-RTM will be published?
Carlos.
