Hello everyone,
I wonder if it's possible to have the in the same netduino, network, RFID and LCD components.
I am a beginner and would like to do a project where the RFID send a message over the network, then receive a response that would be displayed.

Wow! A new friend from the amazing Brasil! Welcome to join us!
I don't know about RFID, but I think it possible...there are several posts about it.
For the network ability, I suggest the Plus version of Netduino (I own that too).
Finally, if an alphanum LCD module (e.g. 20x2 chars) is enough for you, there's no problem at all.
Hope it helps.
Cheers
Biggest fault of Netduino? It runs by electricity.

Hi Eduardo,
I wrote a small sample for an RFID reader (read-only!). It's based on a RFID starters kit:

For simple LCDs, you should look here:

I used that code and schematic, and it works fine.
The networking part would be the biggest challenge. What protocol would you like to use for it?
Good luck!

Hello everyone and thank you for the answer, seems everything can be used together.
Stefan the protocol could be TCP.
One more thing, I thought that RFID and this LCD, what should I buy for the network?
What is necessary for everything to work together?

I haven't got experience with that RFID thing, but it just has a serial port so it's probably not much different then the one I used.
The LCD, I have got the same in my box, haven't played with it yet though. Still, it should be netduino compatible. I've read somewhere that this code would work: http://forums.netdui...-nuelectronics/
TCP, but what's next. Just a simple socket, or a HTTP layer?
There are several options, a Netduino Plus is the most obvious one, it has ethernet onboard. Also, this could help: http://forums.netdui...hernet-shields/

Stefan thank you for answers,
I think I will initially work with the lcd and the rfid, when these two are working, I decide which one to buy, the Netduino Plus or one of these shields.
