It seems that my learning is heading down the route of embedded systems. Does any one have any good book recommendations so I can go and learn how to connect various components up to make my own systems?
Thanks!
Recommended books for electronics and embedded systems?

A book that I know both Chris Walker and myself are reading is The Art of Electronics. He is constantly raving about it which caused me to dust it off and give it a read. I am starting to see what all the fuss is about. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone interested in electronics.

I'd second that,
Best (most readable) book on Electronics I've ever found - problem is that it is now 22 years out of date, and hideously expensive. I don't know why it was never updated beyond the second edition. Nice explanations of things without lots of Maths.
Get someone to buy it for you as a Birthday/Christmas present, or do what I did: buy it for your girlfriend, then marry her!

PS - any books using Netduino coming out soon?

I hear rumblings that a third edition will be coming out in 2012. Before or after Duke Nuken Forever is the question

I'd recommend "Getting Started with the Internet of Things" as well. It is geared towards the Netduino Plus, but most of the concepts will work with the regular Netduino using the Arduino Ethernet shield as well.
