I want to share with you our Netduino Plus 2 project based. It is a PCB with some changes from the schematic, such as the RJ-45 connector with magnets, the array of resistance for common resistance and regulators.
This PCB also has integrated on board the following devices, GPRS module SIM908, accelerometer, and a pair of RF transceivers.

The function of this board is as a gateway between the RF network and the cloud, connected to an MQTT broker.
At the moment we are working on porting the libraries from Arduino.
We hope to make a very low scale production for the coming months.

Something that I find very necessary is a watchdog. Until now the idea is to add an external circuit.

I am very happy with the news of the new stack TCPIP and hoping to test as soon as possible.

Regards, Pablo

That's very nice, but...some questions:

  • where are the I/O pins (or else) for sensors and related?
  • the Wi-Fi is an option/alternative to Ethernet, or is unavailable?
  • could you post an image of the bottom view?

Congrats so far, and good luck!

Biggest fault of Netduino? It runs by electricity.

Looking very good, could you please tell how much it cost you in total ?

Seems to be a pure gateway between GSM or Ethernet on one side and some nRF24L based radio network (2.4 GHz) on the other side, so no I/O pins are needed.

Mario,
As Cuno says, in the case of this board, the function is only gateway. The idea is to work on the development of different devices with I / O, and communicate using RF with the gateway. In this there is nothing new.
We decided not to use Zigbee or Zwave, because I think it is not ideal for IoT.
We are thinking of adding a esp8266 module for wifi, but to complement ethernet. Not to replace it.
Bottom side of the pcb does not have any component.

xmen,
The cost of the components should be below the u$s 100.

For most devices that have no connection to the cloud directly, we are using PIC. I suppose it could be done also with MF but there are some factors, such as size and power consumption among others, and then we decided to use PIC.

Pablo,

Thanks for sharing this! Glad that Netduino helped bootstrap your new board. And thanks in advance for helping us test out Netduino.IP!

Chris
