Hi. I'm a .Net developer for the Dish Network manufacturing centers in El paso, TX, Spartanburg, SC, and Englewood, CO.

My main job function is to develop (you guess it) web applications, web services, ect. Using the .Net framework.

Anyway, as of recently, RFID has been a hot topic at work and now we want to start using it to track assets, employee's performance, attendance, ect.

The topic of RFID encouraged me to go out and learn how to interact with the world around me. That's when I spoke with some other engineers on how to get started. I was told to learn about the arduino microcontrollers and the fundamentals of electronics which is what I did.

However, as I was about to order an arduiono state kit from adafruit, I came across Netduino Plus 2 and was blown away. I immediately ordered one.

After ordering the Netduino plus 2, I began to search the Internet to find recent news/projects to see what's going on with netduino, the netduino community, and the future of netduino. I must say, I'm kind of disappointed because there isn't much news nor a big community. Am I missing something? Is Netduino here to stay? Everything im finding about netduino dates back to 2010 and I can't find anything as recent as 2014. Can someone please tell me if Netduino is here to stay?

Hi Joseph,

There's a lot of "new" going on with Netduino. The new NETMF 4.3.1 R2 SDK just shipped...and the shiny new Netduino.IP networking stack is now in technical preview.

We'll have a lot of new bits to share this year that will make your Netduino even better.

BTW, a lot of the community members here like you read the posts but don't pitch in except to ask for advice or help. With 10,000s of registered community members and many more watching from the sidelines...there are a lot of good folks to hang out with and build things together with here.

Welcome to the Netduino community!

Chris
