Problem after attempt to flash firmware to 4.2

I managed to fix it!

Strangely I changed the deployment device from the Netduino to the emulator, then deployed. It worked. I then changed it back to the Netduino and Bob's your uncle it worked.  :D

It makes me wonder if the first flash was successful or not really. I think the key to it all was the first link in the above post maybe?

If you followed the post thanks for taking the time to do so.

Hi Everyone,

We recently purchased a Netduino Plus which I assume is a Netduino 1 Plus. Everything was going fine until I wanted to use Regex to parse a small amount of JSON without running into memory issues. I read that Regex was available in .NETMF 4.2 and above. So, firmware update we shall proceed!

I downloaded the 4.2 update rather than skipping straight to 4.3 as I couldn't find anywhere if this was acceptable or not. Anyway, followed the procedure as described. Right near the end of the upgrade I got an error about not being able to apply the update. Apologies, I don't remember the exact wording.

I decided to try the 4.3 flash now as I didn't think it would hurt. This time though, I couldn't get anything to work. It seemed to be stuck in the bootloader.

Eventually by reading the forum, I managed to download the 4.1.0.6 firmware which successfully applied. I decided to not worry about the 4.2 firmware and find another way to get the desired result from our JSON response.

However! Now when I deploy the app, I get this in the output windows:

Looking for a device on transport 'USB'
Starting device deployment...
Iteration 0
Iteration 1
Iteration 2
...
Iteration 59

Error 5 Device not found or cannot be opened - USB:Netduino

If I run MSDeploy (v4.3) I and ping I get:

Pinging... TinyCLR

And if I press device capabilities I get:

Can someone help me get my Netduino back to functioning either normally or with a 4.2 or 4.3 firmware whilst we're at it please? :) The device is literally useless in it's current state.

Thanks for reading.

Paul.  :)

PS I can't seem to make it go back into bootloader either to try and reflash to 4.2 or 4.3 right now.

UPDATE

I've managed to go through this:

Then this:

And can report it's now running .NETMF 4.2 as per MSDeploy:

FloatingPoint:                          True
SourceLevelDebugging:                   True
ThreadCreateEx:                         True
LCD.Width:                              0
LCD.Height:                             0

However, I'm still having the iteration problem when deploying apps.
