Hi all,

Newbie here trying to get RS-485 communication to function properly.  Here are the details of my project:

1.  Netduino 2 Plus with factory firmware

2.  Bought this shield to provide RS-485 port for my Netduino:  http://store.linkspr...r-arduino-v2-1/

3.  Going to use SerialPort class to manage connection with shield on COM1 (D0 and D1).  Using VS 2013 to write the code and deploy solution to Netduino.  Ran a simple test (flashing light) and deploy was successful and code worked.

4.  Will connect twisted pair from CAT6 cable from target device to RS-485 shield (see 2 above) to handle physical transport of RS-485 signals.

5. SerialPort code will write a byte array that target device will expect and know what to do with.  I will use the ReceivedData event handler to get the byte array response.

Quick questions:  Has anybody ever gotten RS-485 communication to work with a Netduino using a breakout board or shield built for Arduino?  Are there any gotchas I'm missing?

Thanks a bunch,

Paul
