I think I must have had a dodgy bit of wiring, because I've double checked everything and must of giggled something in the process and the LCD now is working Go to the full post

#1Posted 13 October 2014 - 11:44 PM Hi,
Im not sure if my LCD is working or not, all the blocks are solid black ?
Its connected up in 4bit mode, with the contrast and backlight connected, but doesn't display any text just solid blocks
An I missing something ?
Andrew #2Posted 14 October 2014 - 08:16 AM How is your LCD wired? Are you using a potentiometer? Did you try adjusting it for contrast? #3Posted 14 October 2014 - 07:25 PM Yes, when an LCD normally powers up should all the blocks be turned on or off ?
If you turn the contrast up all the way will the blocks go black ? #4Posted 17 October 2014 - 07:28 AM Yes, they can appear to be all all (dark), depending on your contrast (set by potentiometer) and your viewing angle.
Check that you are wired correctly, that you are addressing the correct pins, check your code, etc... Restart your Netduino #5Posted 19 October 2014 - 07:06 PM Best Answer
