Is it possible to drive 8 stepper motors with netduino? if yes, how?

Thanks.

Yes! The Adafruit motor shield V2 is stackable. Each one can control 2 steppers so you can just use 4 of them to get 8 motors. It uses I2C so basically only uses 2 pins to control all the motors.

You'll need a driver of course. Luckily I have one of those that supports the Adafruit shield and limitless motors. I would recommend a Netduino 2 or Plus 2 because the computations for the acceleration and deceleration are quite CPU intensive.

You can get the source code for the motor controller from https://bitbucket.or...mf.motorcontrol - there are some example projects that show how to use the stepper driver and the Adafruit shield. There is also a ready-made NuGet package (search for 'motor control') so that you can just install and go.

Let me know how you get on with it!
