Hello folks

First post so please be gentle. Some time ago I found a project that made a maverick thermometer go WiFi. I totally wanted to do a project like that because at my current quarters even though the maverick has great range it just cant reach my couch. That project also added a fan to the controller and boom they had made a pit controller.

Project is discussed on this forum. I don't know if its illegal to post links to other forums so please remove if not allowed.

This project uses an OpenPicus WiFi Board as the main micro controller but being a .Net developer by day I thought why not try my luck with Netduino. I've done a table tennis scoring project with an arduino but I found coding for it very weird. It'd be nice to feel home when doing the code for it.

So back to the project. Obviously I'd need to get the Netduino on WiFi. I then plan on grabbing the Maverick temperatur data from a 434MHz Receiver and post it to a website somewhere. Most likely some home brew ASP.NET website using WebApi and have either the site itself display the values and/or develop an application that will download the values. Not quite sure yet about that yet.

I also plan on making the unit control a fan attached to my grill making it possible to blow air if temp is too low and stop if temp is too high.

I already have a Maverick ET-732 thermometer and I find it really precise and stable so no need to use some other probe for this project.

First I need to figure out which Netduino. Im thinking Netduino 2. I dont need LAN. Only WiFi. I may need to save allot of temp readings to make the right decision on the blower but I dont think stuff like that will take up too much memory?

Need some WiFi. Which is good for Netduino?

Also the 434MHz receiver. Would I be able to use the one listed in the linked project?
