Hello programmers! So I have recently purchased a Netduino 1 from a Deseret Industries Thrift Shop. It came with a bundle of jumper cables, some LEDs and resistors, some buttons, the USB cable, and an entire kit for a Makershield. I have also purchased a 2.8 inch TFT display. The display was 12 dollars, and everything else was 3. It looks absolutely brand new, except the seal on the black Netduino bag is broken. I brought it home, eager to make a program, but first decided to update the firmware. I followed the guide and touched the jumper wire from the 3.3v plug to the little gold square, and both LEDs came on and now windows detects it as an unknown device. C# doesnt detect it, and neither does mfdeploy and stdfudetect. Do any of you know how to help me? Quick replies would be appreciated.

What guide are you following? ST tools do not work with Netduino 1, you have to use Atmel SAM-BA.

Hi TyBan12,

As CW2 mentioned, be sure to follow the Netduino 1 upgrade instructions. When you plug your board back into your PC, it should be recognized as an Atmel SAM-BA device. Reflash the bootloader there, and then use MFDeploy to upgrade the main TinyCLR firmware. After that you should be good to go.

Does that get you up and running?

Chris
