The specs of the netduino plus 2 says that you need a poweradapter with a voltage of 7,5 - 9 V, but what about the current ?

If I have an adapter 7,5V - 300mA is that a possible configuration, or should I use an 7,5V - 1A adapter, or maybe the Netduino Plus 2 needs a higher current.

Can someone tell me what adapter I need to use ?

I own a Netduino Plus 2 and I can sure you that a 300mA PSU is far enough for the board itself. Consider that when you plug the board via USB, the current can't be more than 500mA.

That's for the board itself, though. If you need some other device to power with the same PSU, it depends on what's the total load.

Have fun!

Biggest fault of Netduino? It runs by electricity.

Hi WillyBilly,

Like Mario has said, 300mA will be enough for general use, however for some power hungry projects you may want to use something larger. As far as power supplies go, your Netduino will only use as much current as it needs. So if you have a 1A power supply it will do no harm to your Netduino, unless of course your project uses more current than the board itself can handle.

I have posted some maximum current loads on the pinout I created a while ago. Hopefully it will help you with your project.

I recently measured the current consumption of my N+2 and it is mostly between 140 and 160 mA  (the pure board w/o any fancy things attached).
