I have a strange problem with my Netduino Plus 2 board.

I deployed a hex file by MFdeploy in it, but I received a new version of the hex file and now I want to erase and deploy the new hex file to the Netduino Plus 2.

The problem is that everything looks fine, I can ping the board by MFdeploy, I can reflash the firmware, I can change the IP settings, but when I want to erase or deploy the Netduino, then it says: Error: no response from device.

I tried it on another computer and there appears the same problem.

What is going wrong?

Hi WillyBilly,

Can you still deploy a new app from Visual Studio alright?

Did you use "Netduino Update" to reflash the firmware? What version of firmware are you running?

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your reply

I tried to deploy from VS2012 and yes that works.

I used the Netduno Update to flash the firmware to version 4.3.1.0

Now, after I deployed with VS2012, MFdeploy can erase and deploy the board fine.

The first time MFdeploy says error erasing, but no "no response from device", the second time it erases fine and I can deploy a new .hex file.

So the problem is solved for now, but is it a bug in the Netduino board or in MFdeploy ?

Hi WillyBilly

I think i am having the same problem as you had.

When I plug NetDuino 2 Plus via USB and Ping. It ping properly "Tinyclr". Also, i can set IP. But when i deploy server code to the board, it take long time for deployment(without error or any result) and in the mean time when i ping the board from MFDeploy it says "Error:No Response  from device" . Though, before server code deployment to the board, i can ping it and even i can ping from command prompt ant it was responding. I am using Firmware 2.2.2. and Visual c# 2010 express.

I just download 4.3.1 version but the board is not picking the dfs file. Infact its not there when i browse it via DfuSe Demonstration.

Thanks

escallanio

Hi Escallanio,

I did not use DfuSe to update the firmware, I used NetDuinoUpdate for it.

I don't know what the differences are between DfuSe and NetDuinoUpdate.

Maybe there is a small bug in the 4.3.1 firmware which causes this problem.

Thanks,

WillyBilly

We include "Netduino Update" with the latest firmware for boards. Here's a copy attached to the 4.3.1 firmware release (valid until a new version comes out).
