What would be the benefit/drawback of connecting two Netduino units directly for communication? I have no real application in mind, just thinking that there might be a use to say have a 'mini detect a certain condition and then push a signal to a Plus 2. Just a random thought. All comments appreciated.

Thanksk.

Actually, I can see a purpose to have 2 or more talk.  I am working on a robot (R2 unit) and all of the "brains" will be netduinos.  One netduino will be nothing more than taking in a PWM signal from an RC controller and being a motor speed controller F/R.  I will have another Netduino controlling a few MAX7219 chips for an LED display, and I am sure I will come up with some other reasons to need more netduinos in there.  Being able to spread the load would be helpful, but have them transfer data to adjust as needed.

Autonomous networks of devices often work like this...each device doing a certain task and then feeding its data back (often via network, but sometimes via UART etc.) to the master device. Having multiple Netduinos focus on their specific workload also reduces the ability for a bug in one's code to hamper other parts of one's project. Not that any of us have ever written code with bugs. I might be a bit biased, recommending multiple Netduinos for your project though ;) Chris

Well then Chris, you must love me.  I have just recently bought 4 netduino starter kits from Radio shack, buying the complete stock of 2 stores in 2 separate towns....lol

I'm sure Radio Shack _also_ loves you, vader!

Thanks for your enthusiasm!

Chris
