Just wondering as I am planning out my future projects are we going to see a hardware refresh to the base netduino and netduino plus? It seems that after the launch of the go they are starting to look a little under-powered.
Are we going to see an updated n & n+

Hi jimox,
Thank you very much for your feedback and enthusiasm. We're listening.
BTW, the SAM7X micros have a really nice balance of features and performance-per-watt. The Cortex micros like those used on Netduino Go and the Shield Base use quite a bit more power and would require some special consideration to use on a traditional Netduino mainboard.
For Arduino-form-factor projects--the SAM7X on Netduino and the enhanced Arduino shield compatibility built into Netduino and Netduino Plus--continue to provide both the nicest standalone hardware and the best value in the NETMF market.
Chris
P.S. If you're looking for a Cortex-class Netduino, we're currently shipping the Shield Bases with a free upgrade to the 512KB Cortex-M3 chip. You need to supply power and use a serial cable for debugging...but technically the Shield Base is a bit of a super-Netduino in itself

Chris, Looking back at my original post under-powered might not have been the correct term to use. Under spec'd would have been more accurate. In my case I am mainly concerned with code space. I am running OneWire (so I can't bump up to v4.2) on an n+ using networking so I have limited space. The possibility of an out of memory exception on a board controlling power to 120v hardware has me a bit concerned.

Understood, thank you. We appreciate your feedback.
To traditional microcontroller developers, the 42KB of RAM on Netduino Plus is like a big ocean...but anything that doesn't end in mega- or giga-bytes can make us .NET developers nervous
Three more quick notes:
P.S. We're hoping to integrate CW2's OneWire support into the 4.2 firmware soon. I don't have a date...but we definitely don't want to leave your application behind on 4.1.

Three more quick notes:
- The Netduino Plus 4.2 firmware frees up a bit more RAM for your application. At least 42KB (and in some cases getting closer to 60KB...but we spec 42KB to be conservative)
- .NET MF 4.2 has an enhanced garbage collector, which really helps assuage any OutOfMemoryException concerns.
- We are continuously working on both new products and updated product designs. Your feedback is really helpful in achieving the right balance for future products.
