Serial Comms via USB in the cards?

Question:
Are there plans to ultimately have the netduino capable of serial communication via the usb port like the arduino works?
While I do have a FTDI adapter hanging around, would be nice to be able to just "dock" for power and comms.
I thought I read a post saying they/you are working on making this happen. Just curious if that will come to fruition or if the outlook is bleak / out of the cards.
Thanks You

Pardon my ignorance, but what's CDC (besides the Centers for Disease Control )?We are working on a USB HID (driverless) communication channel...and are looking at CDC as well. We're not sure if we'll be able to enable CDC _and_ USB debugging at the same time--but we're looking at it.

To add to what CW2 said, CDC = "virtual serial port" more or less.

Hi.
its been a while since last post, and I cant find any guide to use the USB port for SERIAL Communication.
ND2 is out there...
Is there any guide / progress regard using the USB port as virtual serial port for serial communication ? (For netduino2)
Thanks
