What's the best way to read a netduino plus's mac address programmatically? Does the rj45 have to be plugged in to read it?

I think 
Microsoft.SPOT.Net.NetworkInformation.NetworkInterface.GetAllNetworkInterfaces()[0].PhysicalAddress
is what you're looking for.
