4WD Arduino Compatible Mobile Platform
From Makershed. Includes the Chassis, wheels and motors. I may have to get one with my next order...
Today LED's, tomorrow, the world!!! Well, OK, maybe servos.

Yeah, that's cute and all, but mine goes 35-45MPH and has a brushless motor

Sounds cool... got some pictures?

I do, but I can't post them here because the picture feature is disabled. I have some stuff on my blog: chrisseto.com
I'll have more soon, right now everything all taken apart waiting for the new motor to arrive.

Thanks Chris... I just scanned those... looks like a fun project (bit complicated for me at this point... still learning to control PWM stuff).

Yeah, it is a pretty complicated project. We are working on the PID controller to get the robot to steer onto a heading. Other than that, the drivers for the RX, servo, and ESC are already coded.
And working on the GPS code. And working on determining what that target bearing is supposed to be (based on GPS and IMU posititioning). And working on collision avoidance. And figuring out how to power everything properly (go go MarkH circuits!). Oh and working on the stupid electronics tray (I say stupid because somehow I got the short straw on that one).
And trying to get all this done before we get to winter and I can't drive an RC car outside anymore because of snow.

^^^
There's a reason why I gave you the task of doing the electronics tray
It's not like there is really any longer straw here. The PID controler is going to be just as difficult, it's just that I don't really have the tools/knowledge to work plexiglas. Coding the PID controller is a lot more accessible for me.
Yeah but I don't have access to a CNC machine like *cough* some others do!

You guys like to handle things Secret Labs style? Building up the mystery huh? Can't wait to see it!Not another project, yet. We are still looking at designing it and sourcing parts. If I understand Mark correctly, this is a commercial project.

This looks interesting...

I own the chassis in the picture it good quality build and a nice platform. I would suggest you start with a rechargeable battery to begin with the battery tray it comes with is located inside between all 4 motors.
