Hello,
What kind of hardware/software do we need to be able to debug firmware using VS like this:

Unfortunately, you cannot use Visual Studio to debug firmware - it does not support JTAG (nor ARM processor family). There is some other IDE running on the notebook attached to ChipworkX module via JTAG, my guess is CrossWorks for ARM. Additionally, the current version of Netduino does not provide access to JTAG pins of the microprocessor, IMHO this is planned for a future revision. What kind of hardware/software do we need to be able to debug firmware using VS like this:

We use RealView Debugger here...
If you're wanting to debug custom firmware via JTAG, today you'll need to use the AT91SAM7X dev board (and solder a 512KB chip on there instead of the 256KB chip it comes with). We'd love to develop a USB JTAG solution in the future...or find some way to sneak JTAG headers on the board...

This will be really neat to have the JTAG headers on the board (not even soldered it but at least a place where we can solder the header). This this way can be also used for learning ARM processors by students and then jump to .net micro framework.
Congrats for this awesome project.
